We all reach a point in our lives where we realize how unprepared we are for the challenges ahead. At some time in life, we recognize that the things for which we fought so hard to accomplish fell short of our expectations and desires.
As time continues, we come to terms with the fact that we cannot satisfy the emptiness in our hearts on our own. No matter how much we try to fill the void with temporary gratifications like pleasure, relationships, money, and power, we eventually realize that the hollow hunger within us always returns. When we reach this stage, we understand that the only power source sufficient to fill this gap is the One who placed it there. When our rising Lord and Savior reveals His love and power to us, it is then that we learn about Jesus.
Jesus and Peace
“Peace, I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” – John 14:27
What a beautiful promise – Jesus has left us His peace and offered it to us freely. This peace is not like the fleeting happiness the world offers; instead, it is deeply rooted in us that can never be taken away.
The Problem
God made us in His image so we can know Him and find true, lasting peace here on earth. Sin separates us from God, and that separation is the root cause of the “missing peace” we all feel on the inside.
Here’s what Bible says;
“But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you so that he will not hear.” – Isaiah 59:2
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” – Romans 3:23
Our Attempt to Find the Solutions
Many have hunted for new ways to repair the damage done to their relationship with God by sin, but no number of good works they perform will ever be sufficient to make up for the debt that sin owes to God.
“He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.” – Titus 3:5
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast.” – Eph 2:8-9
Regardless of whatsoever path we may select to try and approach God, the fact is, there is only one way to find Him.
“There is a road that seems right to a man, but in the end, it leads to death.” – Proverbs 14:12
Jesus said,
“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one approaches to the Father except through me.” – John 14:6
The Answer from The God
As a result of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, we are able to have our fellowship with God restored and be forgiven of our sins. Read what the Bible says in the following verses
God offered his only Son so that everyone who puts their faith in him could not perish but might have eternal life. As the Bible puts it, “God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order to save the world through him.” – John 3:16-17
For Christ also died for the ungodly; he was sacrificed on your behalf so that you may have access to God. – 1 Peter 3:18
However, God shows his love for us by sending Christ to suffer on the cross while we were still guilty of sinning against him. – Rom 5:8
